You

tearsofapoet:

You’re falling apart.

No one has been good to you.

You want revenge,

Ease your pain,

And start somewhere new.

You’ve become afraid of everything.

You forgot the feeling of happiness.

All that’s left is hate

And you’re not going to let it go

Until everyone has paid,

But it doesn’t have to be that way.

Restart your life somewhere new

Where you can change and become

A better you.

raindrops on the passenger side window.

thedustdancestoo:

tears.

veins, bleeding.

tiny drops of stars

catching bits of lost light

as they meet, swallow

each other,

and then separate,

streaking

across the glass

before disappearing

into the night.

There's a somebody I'm longing to see

Today:

Two people working side by side, one of them sings softly to herself.

“Hey I was watching Christmas movies this week, there was one where a girl is singing and it reminded me of your singing.”

“Oh yeah, what was she singing?”

“I don’t know, I can’t remember the name of the movie….what was it called?…Elf!”

Flashback:

It’s night. I’m driving down the street. He’s sitting beside me and we’re going home to the same house and I’m happy.  Music is playing from my phone that’s propped up in my truck’s ashtray. Ella Fitzgerald comes through loud and clear for such a little speaker. I sing along, my voice exploring the rich colors of the melody, “There’s a somebody I’m longing to see, I hope that he, turns out to be, someone who’ll watch over me…”

“Your voice has an ancient-ness,”

“What?”
“You know, it has an old quality.”

“Do you mean old-fashioned?”

“Yeah, like the girl who sings in Elf. Like, jazzy. But your voice is prettier.”

Oh my God, I think. I love you.

Today:

Two people working side by side, one of them sighs to herself.

“Elf?”

“Yeah! It totally reminded me of you.”

I give an ironic chuckle. “I’ve been told that before.”
